Outside your box

Years of habits and looking in the wrong places can place you in a deep creative rut. Comfort sets in which feeds complacency – a deadly combo. This isn’t to say that the work you produce is valued any less by anyone, but for the creator, complacency becomes crippling.
Every once in a while, it feels good to clean out the head, heart and soul and trash it. Trash it all. See the world with a new set of eyes. Dig deep, look inward and decide what it is you REALLY have to say.
If you were to push the reset button today, what would Step 1 look like for you?:-)

Every year I go through a time period where I unplug, shut down and literally stop creating for myself. . I don’t know why or how I let myself get like this, but it never fails. I blame it on the dreary skies and cold weather for months on end (we get to enjoy in Pittsburgh). This is a lame excuse.
The real reason is getting busy with the mundane and self created worries/fears which takes away my soul. Don’t get me wrong, we have Good busy too, it’s the other busy and worries that are self created that truly block any form of motivation I can muster.
As of lately I can’t get enough of art. I have been doing things that I have never considered trying – and it is opening up the floodgates to my creative mind. Nothing that I am doing is ground breaking and it may not even be good, but I’m creating which is all I want…

Crafting Nature

so...its sept 2012....and agreed I am the worst Blogger that ever was!
Inspirations lie everywhere. You just have to be focused clearly mine has been wandering in all directions!
There are multiple types of Arts in this world, al you need to do is to explore them with the passage of time. Similarly, I found my style finally which is crafted by  the design of leaves and trees in abstract form and highly textured style. t doesn’t take a whole rainbow of colors to produce a stunning and beautiful piece of art... but it does take careful selection and judicious application of the colors. This collection  aims at those designed with either only 2 colors or at least with two main colors and a few subsequent colors.I will be posting pics of some of my works in the comming weeks .:-)

Look out for pics and updates in the comming weeks!

After the longest break from painting , I am back to it and I couldn't feel better about it! I never questioned returning to painting, I knew I would eventually. I didn't force it, I let myself have the time I needed to take a step back and remember why I do this, what I love about it, and to reclaim the JOY of painting. I won't get into the things that dampened my inspiration - I don't feel like giving them any power since I've learned what I needed to and am ready to move on. But I will say this - it is never over. If you are ever an artist (in my case I am not even an amateur :-)), you are never NOT an artist, even if you don't pick up a brush or a sculpting tool or whatever it is you use/do for some time. To any artists out there that have experienced or are experiencing a lack or inspiration or an artist's block, my advice is to just wait it out. It will come again and when it does you'll be refreshed and so inspired. Now is the perfect time to get back into my own work.

These two pieces are the first to be completed out of a batch of several canvases in progress. I'm working on different styles and techniques canvas right now... and I'm just loving the bursts of color and the playfulness of these new works although i am yet to develop my own  style and stick to it...right now its about experimenting and having fun !

Hard core winter here in THE BURG.  I just might get buried by cabin fever under all of this snow and ice. It has been INSANE and the snow just keeps on coming! I'm quite thankful for the timing of my return to painting because I'll be leaning on it to get me through the rest of this monstrous winter.
